That Girl
Wow, she even gets her own title.
I have been realizing that That Girl is directly (and indirectly) responsible for most of the people I hang out with on a regular basis.
How, you ask?
Ok, maybe you aren't asking, well then flip the page. ;p
This is the girl who I met through my ex and we all started hanging out. Her with her boyfriend (at the time, mine now) and me with mine. She hung out with me even though I was a pregnant teenager and therefore scary-full of hormones. Somehow she managed to get along with me, even though I am difficult.
So, she is also the one who volunteered to go with me into surgery when my child decided that he would not come out on his own. To be fair, others volunteered as well, but she is the one who ended up going. I made them decide between each other. I was too far gone to choose. Since it was the ONLY time my mom went home and my ex could not deal, someone had to come. So, she came and watched them cut me open, and bring my son out. I remember her saying, "He is beautiful, blue but beautiful". Now I was being put under, so this alarmed me, but not much.
I had infinite faith in the hospital. Maybe I shouldn't have, but I know that they do these kind of things all the time.
Well, I became quite busy and she broke up with said BF and therefore, we didn't really see as much of each other as I would have liked. Just when we both were out for coffee. Then, we really didn't see each other. Only occasionally, because it is a small town.
One of these times, was when she happened to get off the bus when I was getting on it, at which point, I and another girl stepped up and just started talking to her. Now, I had ridden the bus with this other girl a bunch, and we noticed each other (being two women on a bus with a small child with them), but we never talked to each other. So, once a connection was established, I became quite good friends with this girl. In fact, my son thinks of her son as his best friend. Her son might not feel the same, but mainly because my son is a couple years younger. He actually has an imaginary friend that he has named "Josh" for when he can't see his friend.
From this friendship came my friendship with my best friend. It is so beautiful.
So, then a while back, she e-mailed me and was like, "hey, our guy friend gave me your e-mail addy, hope you don't mind." Of course, I don't mind. I wish I coulda been there to help her when she was dealing with so much. But since, we have started hanging out again, and I keep up with her blog. It is truly amazing to read all the things that she has to say. I feel truly blessed that I have her thoughts to read, and her presence, and her friendship. I also feel great that we have managed to find our way back to each other (damn that is cheesy ;p) and she isn't terribly wierded out that I am going out with her ex.
So, three cheers for That Girl and you should visit her blog if you haven't ;p. I am just not cool enough to put a link here, cause I don't know how. OOPS!
