Logic vs. the unknown

Image
I'm watching "A Haunting" cause I can. (YAY for a day off!) As "left brain" as I am, I must admit that I'm not entirely sure of the non-existence of ghosts. Aliens, I have no problem not believing in, but ghosts are entirely another subject. Maybe it's completely ridiculous, but the way I feel when alone in a quiet house has nothing to do with logic. I'm feeling bad for the kid in this one. He just keeps trying to tell his parents about this "ghost" or "demon" or whatnot, and they don't believe him. Could I believe Derek if he said that same thing? Without seeing anything weird? This is like the boogeyman in the closet thing. Who believes their child when they think there's someone under the bed? Granted, you do look for someone or something, but do any of us parents really believe there could be something there? I'm freaking myself out, my favorite thing to do, so I shall go and watch the rest of this and hope the boy...

Why would I do that?

My night out was canceled, as Jenn did not feel well. It's actually worked out for me as I sat on the couch after the boys left and fell asleep for about an hour. Woke up with a nasty headache, which 4 ibuprofen have not really helped. That's what I get for not drinking coffee in the morning, I guess. We'll hope I can get through this blog entry, as the other night a headache turned into something much worse. I don't know that I would call it a migraine, but it was damn close. So I went to bed early and woke up fine. Does it make sense? Not really. I was certain I'd wake up with the same damn headache, but I didn't, so I guess the solution is bed for many hours. Hurray. I love getting older. So I woke up, drank coffee, watched "Ed Gein"...it would appear to be serial killer month On Demand. Hurray for me, right? Except totally not, cause I needed to take a shower later. The shower is where I feel most vulnerable, especially when no one else is in the h...

Decadence and Lies

I've just barely got my coffee. No, I didn't sleep all day, but I DID laze around in bed for as long as my head would allow. My stupid caffeine addiction is giving me a headache, cause I waited to long for coffee. Stupid me, I know, but I just could not be bothered to come out from the warm blankets. Thank god Derek is 10 and can be trusted to not tear the house apart in the mornings, not like when he was a baby. So, that's my decadence. I deserve it though, yesterday we were up and shopping by noon, so I feel like I deserve a bit of laziness. SO MANY PEOPLE in the store! I was annoyed, and this stupid guy was walking around the aisles with an open bag of flour, and didn't seem to notice it, so the employees were running up and down the aisles trying to sweep it up. They finally pinpointed the guy and the lady was like..oh, it's you, here LET ME TAKE THAT FLOUR. And he STILL seemed confused as to what the hell was the problem. It's funny now, but I was irritated...

"What Happens Now?"

What fresh hell is this ? Now I love David Boreanaz as much as the next person,(not as much as I love Buffy) but why for the love of god is there a Crow 4? Once upon a time I watched "The Crow" and bawled my eyes out. Maybe many times, and it doesn't help that poor Brandon Lee died for real making that movie. It just makes me sadder. The first one was fantastic, the perfect revenge movie, with a bit of eye makeup and emo-ness thrown in. I don't care if Tara Reid and David are in that movie, I will never watch it. Not even with the goodness of Edward Furlong thrown in. -------------- Ok, off my soap box. I'm sitting at work, having lunch in Tara's office, listening to all the 80's and 90's music that I have on my iPod. The sappier the better. Richard Marx? You bet. Followed up with Janet. (who really needs no last name) -------------- Tammy and I went out for a bit Friday, looked at some items we may purchase, and then just sat at Gateway and drank coff...

Bored on my lunch break...

Seems like it always happens that whenever I have to get up early, early and go to work I don't sleep well. At all. It makes me sad, cause then I have to be here for like..almost ten hours today and on top of everything I'm so tired. Meh. Coffee only irritates my stomach, so keeping awake that way does not help me. I'm seriously entertaining the thought though, even though I know it's a bad idea. In any case, I hope everyone else's Saturday was better than mine, as I am working. And hope that the Ducks win, k? I have a real, honest to god vacation coming up. I've never had enough time saved up to take a week off, and so in like...May last year I sat down and figured it all out and realized it was my year for Christmas with Derek, so I planned well. I'm going to be off from the 21st to the 2nd. People keep asking me what I'm going to do on my vacation. HA! I'm gonna sit at home, it's Christmas time, I don't have any extra money, I'm just g...

Some times weekends really kick ass

My first kid free weekend has gone pretty damn well. I've been meaning to go through the kids toys, and not getting much of anywhere. It's a very daunting prospect, honestly. I'm pretty sure there are TODDLER toys in the bottom of that fucking toy box. Eh. Maybe next weekend. However, I did clean up a bit, got to be lazy a bit, and had Heather over. It was her birthday yesterday, so I offered her beer and conversation at my house. We had a great time, just talking. Shooting the shit, so to speak. I like seeing her, I like how much we can just talk, and not even be embarrassed by stuff I can't say out loud to just anyone. Today I've already managed to make breakfast (which I NEVER DO, but I am truly awesome today) burn two CDs, got on the bus to head out to Jenn's, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENN!, got the bus back, got groped by an old lady on the bus. I like wearing shorts, but maybe I should not on the bus when people might snake their hand back to hold onto the back of t...

And now, time to relax...

Or something like that. I got a LOT done this weekend. In between rounds of this new game that I love I've got 6100 points or so once. That's the best I've done. Bear with me here, cause this is going to get ramble-y. We did a TON of work on the yard. We have this plastic crap underneath the dirt that is supposed to help keep weeds down. HA! We let it go to long and not most of the has holes through it where the weeds came through. I always thought I wanted a yard, what I really wanted was a lawn. We got the grass down to manageable again. My gnomes will not be lost wanderers anymore! They can guard the rosebush with impunity. Until it grows again. I helped get the clippings in a bag, even though I'm playing Russian Roulette with my allergies. I WILL NOT TAKE THE MEDICINE UNTIL I HAVE TO. I got other things picked up, and I started pulling up the plastic crap. Over by a stump, in a little area where it was covered and not likely to have stepped on, was a garden snake. ...

It would make a fantastic reality show, you know, except for all the witnesses

My boss decided that I needed to work last Saturday, effectively giving me a one day weekend. And I'm working Sunday, ANOTHER one day weekend. In A ROW. I'm a little bitter. I asked her if it was because she hated me, but she says that's not it. It's just the way it worked out. I figured oh well, and let it go. Or at least told myself to let it go. I was doing nicely until I realized that I got Spring Break weekend because NO ONE was here, and I get EASTER because no one else wants to work it. I have a kid, and others don't, but I MUST come to work on Easter. I'm more than a little peeved. My kid JUST got home from Portland and I have to spend two weekends not having any extra time? Only time to catch up on laundry and other bullshit? So, the premise of my own self made reality show would be to see how long it takes before I lose it. It almost happened Tuesday which kind of makes me worried. I still have so long to go before I can be free for a good amount of ti...

Don't you wanna take a ride with me? Part. 2

Since no one is checking my little blog, I am going to put a bunch on here. I was busy earlier. You must forgive me for not putting anything new since Friday. I did have access yesterday but what with keeping this so damn secretive, I couldn't post in front of the boyfriend. You can read my dilemma by going down to my first post of the day. Sunday Got up earlier than normal to put a roast into the slow cooker. It was all so complicated. With the both of us getting up earlier, it did result in some fun times. I was all set to go and get my damn taxes done so I can wait for the money to roll in, when I realized I don't have the forms to do a paper copy (which shouldn't matter, but I like to know what it should be, before the computer takes them and runs with it). Another example of my need for control. I like to see each question and fill everything out and look at the schedules and blah, blah, blah. So, after that I realize that I don't have my 1098 forms that I need so ...

Don't you wanna take a ride with me?

Well, my weekend sure as hell wasn't boring. I might just put Saturday here and add on later. Who knows, I feel unpredictable today. Saturday Shopping - Of the grocery variety. I love the deals, but hate the craziness of Winco. I will not go back if I forget something on my list. It is like a warzone. Seriously, I am like...."we left the kid in produce?, that's fine, he will find his way home". Ok, not seriously, I would never leave my child there. But I might leave a meal there, rather than go back. What is the matter with people? It must be a result of how long it takes me to shop without a car, but I know exactly what I am going for, where it should be....shit I can almost envision the whole store. So, why do people stop and stare in the aisles? Do you know what you came for? I guess not. Maybe I am too organized. I shudder at the thought. I weave in and out of the aisles. Lately a friend has been taking me, so if she doesn't need something in the aisle, I leav...
