Thoughts on Springfield
Tomorrow marks my third year working at the bookstore.
Which means the review will come soon enough.
Any bets as to if I get my quarter raise?
I was waiting at the bus stop with some co-workers and we started talking about where we live. They live over by 5th street. They were calling it the ghetto and saying that a lot of employees live over there. At least I know that we ALL get paid crap. Besides the big guns. They make 3 or 4 times what I make.
Anyhow, I was like....well, I live in Springfield, does that count as the ghetto.
They were like...you know, I've lived in Springfield and I LOVE it. And the other one was like...isn't it funny, how when you live in Springfield, no one comes to see you?
And I was like....YES! I know what you mean, it's just too far away for people, I guess.
That, and the stigma. Let me repeat, my neighborhood is kinda cute, also I've NEVER had any sort of problem with anyone trying to break into my house or steal my shit. For like 3 nights, I left my broom outside, no one took it, or tried to use it to break my windows or anything. While it may not be perfect, I like that it's smaller, it's working class (as Joy said last night), and it's cheaper living out here.
(I LOVE THAT THE GIRLS IN THIS MOVIE HAVE A LITTLE PAUNCH TO THEIR STOMACHES, NO SIX PACK ABS BACK THEN. :))
