For CoffeeHouser, who has my sympathy
I used to have two roommates, a baby, and a boyfriend who I lived with and who all drove me up the wall crazy.
Ok, not the baby, I love babies!
I had one roommate when Derek was born, plus the boyfriend. He never cleaned, was always in the house, smoked in the house, until we kicked him out. We moved into his apartment, then kicked him out, you gotta love the irony.
We moved in Heather and Paul in December of '97. Derek was a month old. We'd been hanging out since August and we all really liked each other. We thought it would be perfect.
It was.....for about 4 months. Having someone there to talk to at any time was exceptionally nice. Having someone who was capable too babysit was wonderful. We had much fun times and would often have people over. I don't know why we had people over, because at one point or another, all of the household would be outside smoking and all the guests would be inside. It was like we needed to be together or something.
Then their cats starting having kittens, and more kittens. Un-potty trained kittens, who liked to climb into the lining of the couch and shit. It took us a DAMN long time to figure out where that smell was coming from.
And they wanted the cat food and the litter box in the kitchen. Why? I don't know. Cause they were crazy? Maybe cause they didn't want to smell it.
I didn't want my kid in it either, fuckers, and I explained that. It didn't matter, they left it there.
Then they started eating my food without asking. I even wrote a note asking them not to use the milk that was from WIC for me and Derek, and they still did.
They also started having people over a lot and disappearing into their bedroom. We know most of the same people and we'd always hung out together, but now they would just hang out with them.
I can deal with not being cool enough, but it was really lame to have them shutting us out.
They said we never cleaned, and some other crap.
Um, I'm not the best cleaner, but I was better back then, seeing as how I only worked part time, and I wanted the house clean for the baby.
I did trick Paul into doing the dishes for awhile by promising to game with him.
But I lied, and I didn't feel bad at all, because they never did the damn dishes. I would do them just do Derek's bottles would be clean, but it pissed me off.
Not to mention the wierd flirtiness between me and Paul. I'm sure that didn't make Heather or Jake feel any better about the situation. He was home all the time, living off her, and I was home a lot, cause of Derek. It made a bad combination. It was nice to flirt, but I shouldn't have.
They decided on their own to move out in August. Only 10 months later. We get along better now, when I see them.
They are both married to other people, and well, Jake and I, you know the story.
