I believe the children are our future

I have two parts to this thought. I might break them up, I might not. I guess we'll see. Now you have something to look forward too, or maybe not. Whatever floats your boat.

Folding the laundry the other day (yes, it is a mundane chore, but someone has to do it, and it is always me) and I noticed that my boy's pants are getting considerably longer. He really is growing up. It is kind of scary what a little kid he is getting to be.

Then this morning, I walked him to school and dropped him off at the front door to go to breakfast. He starts walking away and I was just struck by how tall he is and how his little backpack bounces and he......he is just really growing so fast.

I know this is what happens, but I always think of him as my baby and it is strange for me to look at him objectively and just be like.....Wow, pretty soon he won't need me for anything.

Then he came running back so we could do our thumb war thing. This is what I came up with to say goodbye in the morning so that he won't be embarrassed by kisses or my saying "I love you". I suppose it is better than nothing. ;p

I might have to stop the anonymous comments. Apparently the only people who leave them are going to form snap judgements of me based on how I look, and since I can't go and read their blog or anything, it really doesn't seem far, since I can't even try to read their stuff and see if they are reasonable people. Today is the day, we break free.

Today I am 26 and 50 weeks and one day old. Which means in two weeks it will be my birthday. That's really what I was getting at, LOL. You know how people on TV are always having their birthdays forgotten? Not me, I inform people on an almost daily basis that it will be my birthday soon. There is no way they could forget. I look at birthdays like a special time for me. And I am all about me. Obviously. I hope the weather is like today on my birthday. I like rain in spurts. I like how fresh everything smells and I really hate it when it's too hot. I'm not sure how I was a summer baby, what with this hatred of heat. I work early that morning to get out of here early. Maybe go home and put some make up on and be lazy about getting ready. In any case, I will make it a good day.
