Last Night

I was putting something in the oven for dinner, and Derek looks at me and says.."Where's Ben?"
(Yep, even he knows who cooks in my house *laugh*)

I said, "He had to run to the store."

Outta nowhere, the kid goes.."I guess he'll be living with us soon."

I said..."yeah, probably. Why? Is that ok?"
(Here is where I am a BAD mother, I didn't even think about it affecting Derek or what he thought..ACK)

"Yeah, that's ok."

"Do you like him? Is he nice to you?"

"Yeah." (It's his favorite word, that and fine...how are you doing? Fine)

"Well then, I can't think of a better person to live with. Someone who is nice to me and nice to you."

"Yeah."

OK, typing this out, the kid sounds less than enthusiastic, but I swear he seemed pretty happy about it.

He might as well live with us now, anyway. =)

While I appreciate your worrying about my soul, I'm screwed already honey.

I have a 7 year old, I'm almost 25, I've never been married, I take the pill, and I don't even know how often I have premarital sex.

Thanks for the thought though.

Seems that your soul is fine.

I think most people think that. It's all about Section 8 and their guidelines though.

I like getting help, but it's wierd living with other people's rules. And since I make enough to not get food stamps, Section 8 and OHP are all that's left. Maybe someday I'll make enough to not need their help either. =)

Yeah, for awhile that's how it was when I was living with Jake. Derek was covered, but not us.

Now Derek is covered through OHP and I get covered through work and they reimburse me for 70%. I guess it's cheaper than just putting me on OHP too.
