The Weight of it all

I've been doing my damndest to make sure I don't gain more weight while I'm on the Depo.
I have yet to work in enough exercise to be good for me. Every time I'm like...this will work, I drop it.
I always think...I can do something at lunch. Honestly? I like reading at lunch. I should walk instead. It would de-stress me just as much.
Today I had to buy lunch and I tried to think of somewhere I could eat..that maybe I could eat quick and go for a walk as well? And also finding something that isn't fried. It's hard when every part of my body wants french fries. Sometimes I compromise and just eat fries for lunch. At least I'm not adding a hamburger on top of it. Today, I went for Home fries with Cheese. I get my potato craving. They are red potatoes with skin, so HURRAY for fiber...a little anyhow. And more calcium. Calcium is good, osteoporosis is bad. The people at the Glenwood were all like..you realize it's just potatoes and cheese? Umm. Yeah, I ordered the damn thing. It was good, and it filled me up. Not stuffed, but not hungry anymore. Which is were you should be, right? Anyhow, it wasn't french fries with ranch. So, it's gotta be better. =) And 3 DOLLARS! Cheap, and yummy.
Yesterday, I had a damn salad for lunch. Hearts of Romaine, with red cabbage, and carrot bits. My one concession was the Bleu Cheese dressing. And it really wasn't very good. I wonder if I'd like vinaigrettes. I just don't know.
It was not filling at all. (I had some tortilla chips later) Someone mentioned maybe putting eggs in it, or some chicken or something. We do not buy chicken, as I'm prolly the ONLY one who would eat it.
I like Turkey as well. I'm thinking about buying a turkey breast and snacking on it at night. Something not full of sugar.
Then we had Spaghetti with garlic bread. Not exactly terribly healthy, but another serving of vegetables. I had a little bit of V-8 as well. I'm trying to get more vegetables in. I LOVE broccoli, but Derek won't eat it and it's not Ben's favorite. He'll eat it, but he'd rather have corn or peas.
I caved and had one Macadamia and White chocolate chip cookie. Only one cause that is all we had left, so that's good.
My resolve to not buy junk is sorely tested when I get the munchies at night. =S I spend more than cause we end up going to Dairy Mart or something similar. So, instead I need to find healthier snacks. I really SHOULDN'T be eating at all after 9 or so. But it's too hard. And when I can manage to shut up the sugar cravings, I'll end up with something with cheese on it. =(
Cheese and sugar, my two weaknesses. AND BACON.

Anyhow. Today I am off to an even better start. I've got almost 2 bottles of water in. (The liters, not 20 oz)
Never mind the endless peeing. Whatever. =(
I ended up getting hungry around 11:30 and decided to find myself a good snack, along with refilling my water bottles.
Our store is full of the Carbohydrates. Aisles full of cookies and chips, not to mention the coffee bar and their donuts.
The bad carbohydrates. =(
I bought a bag of tortilla chips in the hopes I wouldn't keep buying small bags of other things. It works to a degree. =)
I settled on Nancy's non-fat yogurt. With real fruit, yum blackberry.
I had to mix it in though and the cup is not big enough for both things to mix well. I had to add some of the fruit and then add more later. After adding more, it's better. Not so sour. Plus, CALCIUM! Depo can cause calcium loss, so I gotta make up for it somehow.
Do you know what else? Yogurt makes me burp. Which is just FANTASTIC. I like burping, it makes me tummy feel better. NO FAT! I double checked the whole damn thing. The yogurt with the fruit in it has Saturated fat. =( This one does not. That was what decided me. And it's got fiber, prolly from the fruit. Both of the yogurts were actually pretty close, besides the fat. The other one most likely was not non-fat.

Now if I can just get through the rest of the day without making some horrible choice.
Sadly, all my hard work during the week is usually screwed when I have a weekend. I make worse choices, since I have little selection. It's just so expensive to go all out and figure out meals, then snacks, then lunches. I usually buy some crackers for the boys for a snack. When I buy fruit, Derek won't eat it. Unless it's watermelon. I should be taking advantage of it being the season. Watermelon is good.
Cantaloupe is better, but again, I'm the only one who will eat it.
Maybe that's a good thing.
We'll see what my list looks like tomorrow when I go shopping with Karina, who is awesome and is my shopping bitch. =)
Even though she is sick.

Ya know, the cultures in that yogurt are probably really good for your gassy tummy problem too. They help you digest! Maybe you won't have so much sad tummy time... :)

(I'm glad you're taking the time to think about what you're eating. Good for you. Cuz let me tell ya, I had a sad tummy after many a night of taquitos and poppers.)

Just remember, it'll take your body a while to adjust to a new menu, don't let that slow you down.

Yes! Yogurt makes me burp. It's awesome. It doesn't even taste bad, just a burp.

And I don't usually have a hurty tummy when I eat yogurt.
Let me tell you though. Eating healthy is more expensive. They all say it's not. But I maybe bought 20 more things than usual and I spent $176!
I'm hoping it evens out to where I can buy less next time. Cause damn, that is expensive. =(

you can blend veggies in pasta sauce too and not notice them :)

I don't mind the veggies. I don't really do peppers, but I like onions, broccoli, peas, green beans, carrots.
Plus more. I could blend them in for Derek.
