What a difference two days makes!
[Edit-This was Friday. Poof, it's Friday! =) /Edit]
What a difference a few days make. What a difference a few hours make.
I hate everyone at work. (tsk, tsk, do you SEE the extremes I go to? It's got to be one or the other.)
This morning, it was fine. Until the person I needed to cover called in sick.
This same person who I just stuck my neck out for so that she could leave early and get her tattoo appointment done.
Goes to show you, you do something for someone, and they take it for granted.
I've been trying to NEVER TAKE ANYTHING FOR GRANTED lately.
Unfortunately, I still do. I mean, I take walking for granted, I take breathing for granted.
I had to get my consignments and normal end of the month stuff in as well, and then I've had to deal with customers. Then the stupid talker goes on a SMALL break to get her car, 40 MINUTES later I am still sitting there. Still having the phone ring two at a time. How unlikely is it that you get NO PHONE CALLS, and then all of the sudden you get two right on top of each other?
That's what really irritated me, I think. She just wants everyone to make her life easier.
Plus, on Wednesday (JUST WEDNESDAY), one of the ladies decided that we should have a little get together and get pizza on Friday (TWO DAYS NOTICE!). Just so everyone can chat and everything. Fine and all, except I have NO MONEY, she set it up for a time when it's perfect for her, but not so perfect for people who close and have to be here until 6, and why can't we do it on a payday? Or have more notice?
I feel like she didn't really care about anyone who is here until closing. If the person who usually closes had to close on Fridays, I bet she would have changed the time. She likes her, and not everyone else as much.
I feel deliberately excluded.
Sure, I could go on charity from the talker, or the new girl (how fucking embarrassing is it that she offered? Someone must have told her I am poor. How nice.)
I'm fucking sick of charity. I feel like I have to be different, nicer, not have fun, not make noise. I'm only there cause someone felt like...oh poor her.
But if I take the talker's money, than she'll only be bitching faster about how she doesn't have any money. I know, I should just be thankful, but really? They don't know me, they don't necessarily want me there, they just feel bad for me.
If I don't have the money, I should not go. That is what I've learned. I mean, DUH, right?
Something I should know, most likely.
Plus, I'd want to have a beer or two, but I have to really watch myself. Who's going to infer that I'm an alcoholic? The people at work should probably not think that.
It sounds like they want to have a relaxing time, and I just can't be relaxed with these people. I have to watch my guard and my mouth every damn minute.
Plus, we offered to have a friend stay over with Derek tonight, and I don't really think Ben would be happy if I was out for awhile. It was MY idea for the most part and then I turn around and go, um, I'm not gonna be here?
I think it's great that he's making so many friends, so I figured it would be good before school gets out. Am I going to regret this? Most likely tonight when they won't sleep.
That's all besides the point. I feel excluded and I'm just a little pissed about it.

It had the POTENTIAL to be disastrous! hehehe...
I dunno. I've been in that position before, and it's difficult to bow out gracefully. I wouldn't make a big deal over the lack of notice, so many people (me) are spur of the moment. A brief "no thank you I have other plans tonight" should suffice. It lacks explanation- no one has to feel bad for making you feel bad for being poor, there's no question of money...
Sometimes the easiest outs are the ones with the least amount of explanation. The more you give, the more obvious it is you're trying for something.
I got an excuse once we knew Derek's friend was coming over, so that helped.
