It's a bittersweet symphony, this life
I went to Jenn's house today.
That bus ride is like a walk down memory lane.
Was that cliche or what?
On the way there, I was like...whoa. This place and that place.
Then on the way back, I passed my sister's old school and my old house too.
First, I pass Dylan's old house, where I spent a few days, skipping classes. Then I pass Heather's house, where I also spent a few classes. Jeez, apparently, I was a bad high school student. Yet I went on to college and graduated, so there is hope for parents everywhere.
Then Churchill, the place where I skipped many classes...and sometimes just sat in the computer room and used "talkers" to spend time "with" people from all over the place. I had my own internet boyfriend people. HA! We tried to do the whole cybersex thing, but I am no good at it. I was just like....uh huh, I do that back. Not very original. Once I took some acid and laughed and laughed at the computer screen, cause it was so ridiculous how I was in this room by myself, to spend time with others. I mean, it's really ridiculous when I think about it. And the Dug out. I made out with someone there once. =)
Then Ariel's old place, I spent New Year's there once. It was cool, plus, obviously, it was her house, so it makes me a little nostalgic. Then Sydney's house, where I've been to many a party. She throws AWESOME parties.
Then Jesse's old place. Where I sat and watched my stomach move. It was amazing, watching how Derek would ripple the skin this way or that. I just giggled and made everyone watch.
Then, finally, my sister's old school, where I used to drop them off every day before walking to school at Jefferson. I can't remember the name of that school for the life of me. I should, but I can't.
Then, of course, we have my old house. The place of many of my teenage moments. The place where I made out with Wes in my bedroom, where I lost my virginity, where I was so angry. I still kind of miss that house. I believe that the good, fun memories outweigh the bad. At least in my memory, as I try to push out the bad. Cause who wants to remember all the bad things anyway?
I'm just almost sad for how much I miss some of those things. I guess that's probably pretty close to the definition of nostalgia.
I used to be so carefree, and life now is anything but. I mean....don't get me wrong, I love my life now, it's just that everything used to seem like so much more fun before I became an adult with responsibilites. Even just riding the damn bus. Once Heather and I rode the bus all the way around. The Thurston one, and we watched some boys, or maybe even talked with them and they got off at the very end, and we still had to ride the bus that whole long way back. We made remarks about people and just laughed a lot. And why? I dunno. We just thought it was fun. It was enough that we were together, I guess. We MADE it fun. And I can still get there, having fun for no good reason. Occasionally. It's just harder, or something like that.
I'm having a hard time explaining myself, so I think I'm gonna leave it at that.

But I think giggling during sex would only make me feel bad. Especially if I were a guy.
So yeah...cybersex doesn't really work for me, specifically for that reason.
